The Man Behind the Words
I’ve been married to my wife, Julie, for 38 years, and together we’ve created a life filled with love, adventure, and an appreciation for the world around us. Five years ago, we left the concrete and heat of Houston for the crisp air and wide‑open skies of Colorado — and it instantly felt like home. Every morning begins with a cup of coffee and a gorgeous view of Pikes Peak (snow‑capped, preferably) - It still takes my breath away!
We’ve been empty nesters for over ten years—where does the time go? We are the parents of twins and are extremely proud of the adults they have become—one a dedicated teacher in Texas and the other a Major in the United States Air Force. Our pride in both of them runs deep, and watching them build lives of purpose and service has been one of the greatest joys of this chapter of our lives.
Colorado is the perfect fit for us. When I am not writing or editing, Julie and I spend our days strolling through and exploring the quaint mountain towns scattered across the state, always discovering something delightful. Garden of the Gods has become one of our favorite spots to wander, relax, and take in the towering red rocks. We love the cold, the snow, and the peaceful beauty of a Colorado winter — and we certainly don’t miss the heat or mosquitoes of Texas.
